What is a UTI?

UTI is a urinary tract infection, commonly caused by bacteria from your poo entering your urinary tract. The bacteria enter through your urethra.

Symptoms of a UTI

• Pain or burning when passing urine
• Needing the toilet more regularly at night
• Smelly, or dark-coloured urine
• Having an urgent need to go to the toilet
• Passing blood in your urine
• Pain in your lower stomach, back and under your ribs
• High temperature
